Python AI/ML Engineer
We are looking for a Python AI Engineer with 3–4 years of experience to join our engineering team. You will have strong Python development skills with hands-on experience in AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs and AI-powered applications, and you will develop, integrate and deploy AI solutions working closely with engineering and product teams.
Key responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered applications and backend services using Python
- Build and integrate Generative AI and LLM-based solutions
- Develop RAG pipelines: document processing, embeddings, retrieval and generation
- Work with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, vector databases and AI frameworks
- Develop REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask or Django
- Integrate AI models and third-party APIs into existing applications
- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar
- Evaluate and improve AI model responses, accuracy, performance and reliability
- Build scalable, production-ready AI workflows
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested Python code
- Debug issues and optimise application performance
- Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Stay current with developments in Generative AI, LLMs and AI engineering
Required skills
- 3–4 years of professional experience in Python development or AI engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML or Generative AI applications
- Good understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG and prompt engineering
- Experience with OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic or similar LLM APIs
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask or Django
- Knowledge of REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with SQL and databases
- Familiarity with Git and Docker
- Familiarity with async Python (asyncio) and background job processing (Celery, RQ or similar)
- Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Comfort working with ambiguous or evolving requirements
- Good communication and teamwork
Strongly preferred
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or similar frameworks
- Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS, Qdrant or pgvector
- Knowledge of AI agents, agentic AI and tool calling
- Understanding of CI/CD and cloud deployment
Good to have
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn
- Experience with streaming responses (SSE or WebSockets) for chat-style applications
- Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
- Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration beyond Docker
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML or a related field
- Graduation year 2021 or earlier (mandatory)
